Draft Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Pick 19: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Strengths: A new, youthful vigor
Weaknesses: Big play ability, outside linebacker
The Pick: Connor Barwin, DE/LB, Cincinnati

Homerism was pretty impressed by the Bearcat defense in OU's early-season win over Cincy. Sure, the Sooners put up some points. Still, the Bearcats played physical ball and did a good job creating turnovers.
Barwin was a big reason why Brian Kelly's team had its best season in school history in 2008. His versatility would add a number of different options to the repertoire of new head coach Raheem Morris, an inventive defensive guru. In addition to being one of Cincy's reserve tight ends on offense, Barwick held a spot on the UC hoops team in his first two years on campus.
Bottom line is this 'Cat is a smart defensive playmaker who can get after the quarterback in a variety of ways. I love him in the Bucs' scheme.
