Night games not Sooners' specialty
Last June, Bob Stoops was quoted that he would like to see fewer night games for his Sooners.
“We play at night way more than everybody else,” Stoops said. “It needs to be spread around. We're talking about competitive advantage and equality, and we're all sharing the money... let's all share the burden of it. That needs to be talked about more than it is.”
He had a concern about his team arriving back in Norman into the wee hours of Sunday morning.
“We're away at Kansas (last year), literally a 45-minute flight home, and we walk into our home at 3:45 in the morning,” Stoops said. “Are you kidding me? Now what does that do for a kid, when he's got Sunday and then he's got to go to school? It's not right. This isn't the NFL. These are still college kids.”

Stoops might want to take a closer look at why the Sooners might want to have no more night games. His quarterback Landry Jones sports a record of 19-7 as a starter in night games (kickoffs after 6 p.m. locally). Jones is 11-1 in day games, and a perfect 7-0 when the scheduled kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m.
This week? The Sooners have a scheduled 2:30 p.m. CT start time this Saturday against Texas Tech.
