Linking Up: Mumme Poll Edition
Lots going on during OU-Texas week. Here are a few items of interest.
*On a completely unrelated note, the Mumme Poll is back and open for business. This is a labor of love for our good friend Senator Blutarsky and gives fans a really unique way to make their voices heard with regard to the college football rankings. I encourage everyone to register and participate.
*Are Bob Stoops and Mack Brown friends? Better question: Who cares?
*Take it with huge salt grains, but defensive coordinator Brent Venables says Jamell Fleming and Aaron Colvin should play Saturday.
*OU has reinstated wide receiver Trey Franks. Before you get your knickers in a twist, Longhorn fans, check out the numbers of the guy who has been playing in his place the last two games.
*Travis Haney asks why OU continues to rebuff the SEC? I think there are reasons beyond just the commonly cited concerns about academics and competitive balance. Frankly, given OU's history of running afoul of the NCAA, I suspect the "recruiting culture" of the SEC is a turn-off for the shot-callers in Norman. Kinda like one of those D.A.R.E. strategies: Avoid the situation.
