Is Trey Metoyer Actually, Really, Truly Going to Oklahoma?

Apparently, the question of whether heralded Oklahoma Sooners recruit Trey Metoyer has qualified to play for the Oklahoma Sooners this season is a matter of opinion.

The Tyler Telegraph reported this evening that the Rivals five-star wide receiver from Whitehouse, Texas, would not be eligible to play at Tyler Junior College this fall, having passed just nine of the 12 hours of summer school he was taking there. Quotes from a TJC administrator and Metoyer's father suggested that he wouldn't be eligible at OU, either.

The Telegraph article prompted Metoyer to text SoonerScoop.com that he had, in fact, made his grades and is now just waiting on clearance from the NCAA.

I have no idea what to make of any of this and wouldn't even pretend to have any insight into the mysterious ways of the NCAA on such matters. I hope for Metoyer's sake it all works out. My advice, Sooner fans: Expect the worst and hope for the best.
