Linking Up: Is That Kevin Wilson?

OK, so the daily links thing got tabled for a bit. For the time being, I'll probably keep this as more of a weekly grab bag.

Anyway, on to the links.

*Ty and Dan of the Solid Verbal podcast had new Indiana head coach and ex-Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson on recently as part of their "Coaching Carousel" offseason series. At OU, Wilson had a well-deserved reputation for rambling interviews that went in every different direction imagineable. I don't know if the Hoosiers have forced him to get elocution lessons or something, but Wilson came off far more polished than I can ever remember him being at OU.

*Texas and ESPN announced some new details on the Longhorn Network today, including some programming notes. Somehow Mack Brown will have to make time for three weekly shows. I love the description of Rewind With Mack Brown: "Coach Mack Brown will breakdown that week's match-up, highlighting key plays and turning points, with a no-holds-barred attitude that Longhorn fans have come to expect from him."

When I think Mack Brown, I think straight-shooter. I know what my DVR is going to be set on every Monday at 7 pm.

*Great, great article from Smart Football on constraint plays and the game theory behind offensive play-calling.

*Big 12 blogger David Ubben of ESPN details the intensifying recruiting battles between the Sooners and Missouri. From what I've read, Evan Boehm's commitment to Mizzou caught plenty of recruiting analysts off guard. With OU jockeying with the Tigers for the services of touted prep quarterback Gunner Kiel and Dorial Green-Beckham, who's widely considered the best pass-catching prospect since Randy Moss, there's still plenty left on the line.

*The Killing on AMC is far from a great show, but the first season has been entertaining. I don't know if it can sustain that its momentum for a second season, as so much of its story has revolved around revealing the main characters' backstories.

I watched like the first 10 minutes of HBO's Game of Thrones, saw something about a warlock or something, and that was it for me. Am I missing out?
