Austin Box became a major contributor at linebacker for the Oklahoma Sooners almost as soon as he hit the field as a redshirt freshman in 2008.

2010
After sitting out the early part of the season, Box played a key leadership role for OU's defense down the stretch... In the annual Bedlam game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, had an interception off a deflected pass in the fourth quarter with OU leading 30-24, helping to thwart an OSU comeback on the way to the Big 12 Championship... Recovered one of the critical fumbles that allowed OU to come back from a 17-point deficit to beat Nebraska in the conference championship game... In what turned out to be his final college game, racked up 8 tackles in OU's first BCS bowl win in eight years versus Connecticut in the 2011 Fiesta Bowl.
2009
Box started at middle and outside linebacker... Tied his career high with 9 tackles in the home opener against Idaho State... Forced a fumble in a 65-10 thrashing of Texas A&M... Tallied four tackles against Stanford in the Sun Bowl, the Sooners' first bowl win in four years.
2008
Following stalwart Ryan Reynolds' season-ending knee injury in midseason, redshirt freshman Box takes over as starting middle linebacker on the way to a berth in the national championship game... Set career high with 9 tackles in 58-35 win over Kansas State... Notched 8 tackles and an interception in 66-28 victory against Texas A&M... Racked up 9 tackles, 3 for losses, in a 65-12 blowout win over No. 2 Texas Tech.
High School
In 2006, Box was a Parade All-American and was named The Daily Oklahoman Defensive Player of the Year... Played quarterback, free safety, running back and wide receiver for the Enid Plainsmen, Class 6-A runner-up in '06... During senior season, passed for 1938 yards and 13 touchdowns, ran for 1086 yards and 15 touchdowns, and had 71 tackles and 3 interceptions.
