Broyles is Back

Ryan Broyles

It had been rumored for days, but the Oklahoma Sooners' stud wide receiver Ryan Broyles officially announced Thursday the he's returning to school in 2011.

OU would have been in the conversation either way, but the news that Broyles and Travis Lewis are coming back for another year makes the Sooners one of the early favorites for the national championship next season. The defending Big 12 champions will have  a total of 17 starters returning in the fall.

Broyles currently stands just 50 catches shy of the NCAA D-I career record Purdue's Taylor Stubblefield. If he matches his per game average from 2010 of 9.4 catches, he should smash that mark.

Lewis and Broyles offer the latest evidence of just how strong the sway of Stoopsonomics appears to be.
