A Little Perspective on Landry Jones
Esteemed college football blogger Dr. Saturday broke down Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Landry Jones today in his ongoing offseason series on next season's starting quarterback, coming to a pretty positive conclusion about his future in crimson and cream.
The Doc lays bare what most OU fans know all too well: Jones feasted on mediocre defenses and was far less impressive against the better competition. As a neutral party, however, he offers a little more level-headed perspective on what it all means for OU.
Jones looked terrible against both Texas and Nebraska, but who didn't? On the flip side, Doc S. points out that Jones' play against Oklahoma State and Stanford, the two wins considered the Sooners' best of the 2009 season weren't exactly Festivus-caliber feats of strength.
If anything, though, OU fans can expect more consistency out of the 'Stache in 2010. I, for one, could live with that.
