Linking Up: November 13
Homerism has been traveling all week for work in my real life, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to give my loyal readers a few links to tide you over and give you something to chew on until I can get back in the swing of things.
*Major ups to our buddies over at SECRivals for breaking the news on the Tennessee arrests. What a black eye for Lane Kiffin's program.
*Oklahoma Sooners Football Examiner has a look at Nike's special "Pro Combat" uniforms for Oklahoma.
*I love "stories" like this from Bleacher Report writer Bryan Kelly on the potential dismissal of Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis. So "unconfirmed rumors" say Weis is out, huh? You don't say.
My favorite line: "Bleacher Report has also learned that Oklahoma's Bob Stoops will be considered for the position." I'm sure Stoops is honored.
Oh, and Homerism suspects even Brian Kelly is out of reach for the Domers at this point.
*Another great coaching rumor is one emanating from Memphis. Something tells me that Dr. Lou is not the right prescription to cure the Tigers' ills.
Also, what criteria did the brain trust at Western Kentucky use when deciding to oust Dave Elson? How is it possible to tell if a team playing its first season in D-I is where it needs to be?
*Congrats to our friends at AccuScore for nabbing ex-ESPN Radio personality Dave Dameshek. AccuScore will be hosting Dameshek's podcasts beginning next week, including his weekly spots with Sooner Nation's favorite handicapper (aside from Homerism), Zach Rosenfield.
*OU's sports information department released an analysis of the Sooners' 2009 injury woes earlier this week.
The data illustrate what a remarkable season this has been for OU from a "missing-in-action" perspective. On the other hand, coming from the university, these kinds of releases really start to sound like excuses.
