‘Bama Best of Bad Lot
Homerism surveyed the college football landscape yesterday, and it reminded me of driving through west Texas–flat, ugly and boring.
Every season has one of those weeks where everything seems turned upside down and you start to question if you really know anything about anything. That was yesterday for me. Unfortunately it wasn't one of those crazy weekends where you stop and realize how great college football is. No, it was just a bunch of mediocre performances by top teams playing bad games.
USC lost to a team that didn't win a game last season. Florida failed to put on the show we all expected. Colt McCoy made tons of mistakes as Texas muddled past Texas Tech.
These are supposed to best teams in college football. Is it just me, or does this have the feeling of one of those
dreaded "down years" in college football?
In all honesty, I'm having a hard time putting together a top 10 for this week based on the actual work teams have done so far. It's more of a matter of who has screwed up less than everyone else at this point.
