Linking Up: Big 12 schedule analyses for Sooners, Cowboys, Longhorns

A few items of interest from around the web.

*I have a few pieces up at Athlon breaking down the schedules of Big 12 teams:

• Oklahoma
• Oklahoma State
• Texas

My biggest takeaway from putting these together is that Oklahoma State has a tough row to hoe this year with a non-conference date versus Boise State and road games against OU, Kansas State and TCU.

*On a related note, I agree with Bill Connelly that Boise could be nasty this year. Bill also detailed the challenge that Florida Atlantic will pose for OU this year.

*Talk is heating up that Baker Mayfield is going to be a New York Jet in the fall. Inside the Pylon published a piece this week on how No. 6 fits into coordinator Jeremy Bates' offense. Our friend Chris Brown of Smart Football has a less optimistic view of that prospective marriage:

I like Baker but I think the Jets (mostly the offense/coaching staff) are a terrible fit for him, and significantly increase the likelihood that he will not succeed.
