A note on LSU-Ole Miss and the Landsharks that may only interest me

I was looking into the Ole Miss defense and came up with some interesting numbers regarding the Landsharks.

The Rebel D has forced 20 turnovers through seven games this season, ranking third nationally. The Rebels have scored touchdowns off of 13 them, either through returns or subsequent drives after taking possession. Eight of 15 interceptions have led touchdowns. All five fumble recoveries have translated into TDs.

That's roughly 12 points per game off turnovers. I couldn't say for certain if that's really awesome, but I bet it is.

Note that LSU generally protects the football pretty well, which the Tigers owe in large measure to Les Miles' fondness for a physical, run-first offense. The Bayou Bengals give the ball away once per game on average this year, which was inflated by four turnovers in a laugher versus New Mexico State.

No idea if that means anything, but thought it was worth sharing.
